Greetings from South Carolina...

I left sunny California yesterday morning and flew here to Greenville, South Carolina.
Today we had a 80th birthday party for my sweet Grandpa!
I surprised the entire family by showing up this morning! I can't wait to post pictures and the video of when I walked in the house! It was great! They were so shocked!!!
We had a great time at the party with him!
I'll post more on it soon!

23 years old....

Just wanted to share some pictures from this past weekend....
We celebrated my 23rd birthday!
My first birthday...as a married lady....
Let me just start by saying..I was so spoiled!!!

First of all, by my parents! :) Yes, it is possible to spoil someone from 2000 miles away!!
I received this awesome gift in the mail....
What, you may ask, is it?? Well this super cute bag is especially made for another awesome gift that my parents gave me a few years back...it's called a Cricut Expression! If you don't know what a CRICUT is...I would strongly advise you to google it! It is definitely one of the most amazing machines invented...being a teacher and a scrapper may cause me to be a little bias in saying that....but that's besides the point! It's pretty amazing!! Anyway, this birthday they ordered me this bag that I can use to transport my cricut or store it!
Thank you Dad and Mom! I love it!

Second, I was also spoiled by my students and their parents....
At lunch hour on Friday, there was a knock on our classroom door and in walked a whole line of parents of my students...and their arms were full of balloons, gifts, food, decorations, an awesome cake and lunch for me....they walked in singing...it was so SWEET! I started crying during the birthday song! We had a wonderful extended lunch! They really really spoiled me! I have to say..God has given me some of the sweetest, most helpful, encouraging parents there are! They are so supportive in the day to day things of school and they always go way out of their way to show me they are behind me and care about me.

My kids were so excited to have the party! They all knew about it before hand so they were very excited to surprise me and to finally celebrate...especially the cake part! :)
they loved their birthday hats!

The Kindergarten came to our room for the party too!

The cake itself almost made me cry....it was awesome!!! That is our "official" class picture from picture day! I have never had my picture on icing before! :)
All of us....one of the lessons I have learned in my two months of teaching is...it is absolutely impossible to get the entire class looking and smiling at the camera....at the same time!
This was one of three shots...:)
the wonderful parents that came and planned it all....

Told you they were excited about the cake!
my huge card!
Third, I was definitely spoiled by Julian...
On Saturday, my actual birthday, my wonderful husband took me out for breakfast and then took me on a shopping spree!
After a fun filled day, we went over to my in laws for what I thought was a small family get together...but ended up being another surprise party. Julian had asked some of our close friends over! We had a lot of fun! It ended up being more of a World Series baseball party...but it was still fun!
Even Bryce came!
Family!
My sister :)
Loved the candles!

Auntie and nephew
Opening gifts

I put this picture on here...because it caught us bumping heads...and the next one shows the result of the bump.....
awwww... :(
:) Michelle is such a special friend
Thanks Babe, for making it such a special day!
I would also like to say..thank you to all the friends from far away that helped make my day special as well. I received packages, cards, and phone calls that all meant so much! I miss you girls! Love you....

I am definitely a BLESSED girl! I have such amazing people in my life!!!!

A beautiful day at the pumpkin farm....

Today was such a great day!
I think my sweet little autistic student summed it up pretty well when he leaned over to me at lunch and whispered..."Today was the BEST fun I EVER had!" :)

We, the 1st and 2nd grade class, have been counting down the days till October 28....
For the last week I have had to stop fights about how many exact days there were till today....
For today we went on our first field trip of the year!!
To - G & M Farms
We were SO excited!!!
And it was everything we hoped it would be...and more....
Here is our day in pictures!!!

"Mrs. Balatbat!!!! We are HERE!!! "
Right away, we went on our hayride!!! Let me tell you CA definitely has more modern hayride equipment than IN.....haha...but that's only because they don't use it for actual farms!! :)
Ready to have a great day!!!

The hayride took us the the "pumpkin classroom" where got our very own "pumpkin lecture."
They loved it!!
He was having a blast!!
(btw...this is my autistic boy...one of these days I will dedicate a post to him! He is so special to me! His name is Bosa...)
the "pumpkin teacher" :)
Even the kindergarten were very impressed!
My boys!
Next on the agenda was the hay bale maze! It was lots of fun!!! They went crazy!

My girls!!!
After that craziness we found some more craziness over at the "corn" box....just like a sandbox but instead it was filled with corn! What a blast!
Bosa was having the time of his life!
He definitely had this coming to him! He stared the corn dumping fight!! I love this picture!
the girls were doing more girly things...like making "corn" snowmen..:)
until...they started burying each other in corn....
they eventually convinced me to join them...
it was so fun!
until...they started burying me...
all done!!
Then they all wanted a turn!

Next, we looked at the animal part of the farm...

haha..only Bosa!
Miss Kelso with the 3rd and 4th grade!
All of us with Bosa being the center of attention like normal....
Silly faces!
the more mature 3rd and 4th graders...

Our animals...
Bosa, the goat....
I'm so glad Michelle and I get to share these memories together!!
In the hay tunnel

I love him!
Eunice and her pumpkin!
Gabi and I picking our pumpkins!
All done :(
Going home....
Bye Pumpkin Farm....we had so much fun today!!!

We made so many memories today! I can't wait till our next field trip!
Let me just say...for those hours today I, for the first time this year, actually felt like it was Fall....all of you back home...don't take for granted your beautiful fall season...you don't realize how great it is until you don't have it anymore....
